I’ve pretty well played everything in 2nd position on harp since I started playing over 50 years ago and it’s only late on that I’ve started playing other positions. I’ve often used this classic old song as practice to tighten up on intonation and 2nd position does provide a good workout with double draw bend on 3, single draw bend on 2 and a semitone bend on 4 as well as overblows on 5.

I’ve been tempted to try it out in 12th since watching Konstantin Reinfeld’s tasty video performance of this song in 12th. I’d like to say it’s easier as no overblows required but there are other challenges, a double draw bend on 2 to kick off and single and double draw bends on 3 in sucession.

Just had a look at 1st position and that is tough too It has more plain blow and draw notes but does have a double draw bend on 3 and a series of overblows on 5 in a tricky section.
