Any suggestions as to the most soulful harmonica recording of "Georgia On My Mind". I found a great Charlie McCoy version from his "Live from Paris" album, but I can't find it on Itunes or amazon.
Ralph does a good job, but Christelle's skill gives the song an expressiveness that's greatly inspiring. Let's add meeting and learning from her to my catalog of dreams for the future. Thanks friends!
I spent a lot of time woodshedding with that Charlie McCoy version when I was trying to learn the song. Paul Oscher does a much more stripped down version. It is soulful.
It's a little different when you're comping behind a singer. I try to stick to the melody.

I've always loved Willie Nelson's version (with Mickey Raphael on harp). Recently I discovered guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel. Here he is playing it with the fantastic Bob Littell on harp.
WOW, so many great versions. One thing for sure, this song is fertile ground for learning to play expressively, and a great showcase for each individual player's style. Thanks so much for all the inspiring contributions, and keep them coming.
