I’m playing this old Peter Green song acoustically and tried out some vocals. Probably could have done with amplification to beef it up more as this is a pretty heavy rock song.

Nice. Sometimes I wish we had a simple 'thumbs up' option for when that's all we need to say.

Yea i feel dumb sometimes posting a two word post. I know people are saying. Dragging this back to the top for that?

That's tight Owl. Has a spooky feel to it with all the heavy reverb or echo. Whatever you got goin on.

What gear are you using to record with? And what are you playing through? Just curious.

Edit: Very Cool. I really wasnt familiar with the song. But after hearing it this video jumps up 10 notches on the kick ass meter. Very nice.

This is wonderful. Your tone is nice managed, effective use of the vibrato on the low end fitting the song's slow, sideways stride menace. Glad that you took the pains to learn the arrangement in full. Your harp would sound terrific in a band , playing in unison with a good guitars on Green's compelling signature riff here. Good vocal too. Thank you for making my early afternoon.

Whoa Owl!!!!! Man that just oozed cool. Regarding the amplification, nah man do not...I repeat ...do not change a thing. Vocals great too. That's as good as anything harp driven that I've heard in a while. it's stuff like that, that makes me glad I just dropped in to see what condition MBH Forum's condition was in.

Kudos.

Thanks ever so much guys for your generous comments!

Killa - I used some outdated gear on this one including an old AKG3700 Mic , An Alesis Midiverb II Digital Reverb through a Fostex X-28 Multitracker (cassette tape recorder) interface into line in on my PC and recorded direct to my webcam.

I’m a big fan of Peter Green. I love this spooky track which was a departure from his Blues roots. I have played ‘O Well’ live but not this one yet. Unfortunately PG suffered a hefty breakdown fuelled by an acid trip not long after Green Manalishi and gave all his money and guitars away. It was only a few years ago that he started playing again but a shadow of his former self.

Cool indeed. I agree on keeping it as is. I love stuff like this that has a laid back, haunting feel to it. Nailed it.

That’s pretty good Sirmixalot. I like the left/right speaker shift effect at the start and the Flanger effect throughout the song. It makes the vocals and harp bit more psychedelic which suits the song. The video effect looks darker and more menacing which works well. The trebles are a bit high now probably due to the added sound effects but overall the remix gives another angle to the song. Thanks.

Nice job on a hard song

Green is my favorite, too, of the 60's Brits-played harp too
He was also the favorite of BB King

Cheers Goldbrick.

Green inspired B. B. King to say, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats.

Here is Green on harp:-
