Yeah, I have great memories of the Floyd playing at The Roundhouse in London circa 1967 trippy melting slide show and all.

Here's my nod to Floyds 'Money' riff from 'Dark side of the moon'

Now Grey Owl, you've gone and brought this tread back on topic. I've also been playing around with a couple of Pink Floyd tunes: Money, and Wish You Were Here. Too soon to demo though. I've noticed that there's a lot of the blues scale happening. It'll be a fun project to work out a solo harp arrangement that will work. I like what you're doing with Money, but I'd disagree somewhat about the main lick.

Pink Floyd is one of those bands I never "got". They always seemed to me like a depressed version of Deep Purple

I guess I never warmed to prog rock- Altho I will admit to a guilty pleasure of Jethro Tull cause Martin Barre is a kick ass guitarist

I'm more of a " 3 chords and the truth" kinda guy I guess

Actually I feel the same as you. I posted because it was a watershed moment in the late 60's on the BBC primetime.

Great sound from the ring modulator, a kbd Santana bought to the world

It was all about the drugs then lol

"3 chords and the truth" is ok, but add a capo and it's even better.

Gotta love a band named for an acid tab

Cheer was a blues based band-- My garage band loved Blue Cheer and MC5

Karen Carpenter had an awesome voice!

Most unique voice of all...Roger Chapman of Family...

Not the best sound video, but same year that I saw them live at a German Festival. Believe me when I tell you that they were a very potent live experience. One of the most creative Brit bands of the era. Roger went through 2 or 3 tambourines during the set I saw.

Also, these guys were great live...at the show in Germany in 1972, keyboard player lowered a portable keyboard into the audience and I was able to jam along with the band! Female lead vocalist was beautiful and a very nice approachable artist.
