I’m playing this old Beatles number Michelle in Fm, 3rd position 2nd position?? on a Bb harp. It's surprisingly challenging for what appears to be no more than a pleasant little melody.

This is that tab for what I’m playing.

Michelle by The Beatles

Tab by Grey Owl -- Sept 2011

I'm playing a Bb diatonic harmonica (Hohner Special 20)

-4= draw hole 4
+3= blow hole 3
-3* = 1/2 step draw bend on hole 3
-3** = Whole step draw bend on 3
-3* = 1&1/2 step draw bend on 3
-4*=1/2 step draw bend on hole 4
+4ob= overblow on hole 4
+6ob= overblow on hole 6
-2*= 1/2 step draw bend on hole 2

Thanks Sorin! Yeah at last the OB's are getting there and they are so useful in playing note for note melodies.

You said:- "3rd position on a Bb it is the key of C."

Oops, I counted the wrong way:) Without wishing to dig myself into a deeper hole.... I believe the song is in the key of F minor so does that make me in 11th postion on a Bb harp?

I second Bugsy... Great vibrato!

I was playing around with this at one point. I'm not sure what position I was in. I think I might have been higher on the harp and I wasn't playing along with a recording so what key I was in is anyone's guess.

If you think you are in the key of F , that makes it 2nd position. :p The 4ob in the second position it gives you the minor 6th, flat 6th, one of the notes that give the minor scale the sad feeling.

Beatles songs are often more challenging than they seem when you hear them. They tend to use a lot of unusual chords.
