Finally got around to doing a demo on this little guy. Numerous people have asked me to show what it can do. So ... here it is. I just shot it and posted it. Because if I didn't I would have just picked it apart and it would have never seen the light of day ... lol.

There's quite a bit of feedback on the video, but in all fairness, I am sitting 2 feet away. The amp doesn't feedback that bad at normal distance. (10ft.+)

Anyhow here it is....

(Sorry. I couldn't figure out how to embed this type of link. And my new phone wouldn't let me get the desktop youtube screen in order to grab the normal link. )

Ahh. Here we go. Got it.

By the way, the better speakers or headphones you have ... the better it will sound. The video sounds awful through smartphone speakers, but not bad through my Marley headphones.

Man, I dunno about the amp and such, I mean sounds fine to me, but you're playing is getting slick.

I am pretty sure I can't do those really notey runs you pull out regularly. I'm much more stodgy. Down to what you practice I guess. Tone sounds good too. Nice going.

Excellent, both you and the amp. Very nice sound. I'm listening on headphones. With the low-wattage setting, it does seem like a much more practical home-practice setup than the conventional 5W tube amp (too loud at home, to quiet with a band).

A person needs one of these for practice, and one of those great big amps to take out.

The amp sounds okay. Your playing, on the other hand, sounds fantastic. Seriously good stuff there (I'm with Superbee on those runs you do . . . nice).

Thanks alot yall. There getting a little repetitive though actually. Lol. I think I need to watch that Jason Ricci video on breaking your normal patterns.

I notice that alot of the time when I run fast UP the harp, I just follow the blue scale. Or do a big TB jump up to the 6 blow.

I think it might be the 12au7 smoothness that some of you aren't thrilled with. With the 12ax7 it has that normal bite that other amps have. It does greatly increase the volume however. But I just use the 1 watt setting and it works just fine in a bedroom setting.

I'll have to make another video with the 12ax7 back in it.

I'm also planning on using this amp to drive a bigger cab. When I get that worked out I'll make a demo of that aswell.

Kills, Ditto on your tone. Time for you to get out and play with some people!.

Question: Besides easier cupping, what other effect have you found with the Bulletizer? I've got the same mic, Ultimate 545, as well as a JT30. I tore a ligament in my left hand and now finding the JT30 heavy and the Ultimate harder to hold by itself. Does the Bulletizr move the tone closer to the JT30?

Thanks harp doc. I've actually got a friend of mine bustin my chops about sitting in with him. I really want to, but I'm not much of a public person. Lol. Never been much of a"read in front of the class" type. But i'm working on it. I need to do it eventually I guess.

Yea, that sucks about your hand. The bulletiser does fatten it up alot. One thing is you lose the ability to open your cup and get those cleaner sounds.

Yes it does push it more into the range of the jt30. It's still the same element but ..... Idk kinda hard to explain. Perhaps I'll do a demo there aswell. A/B with and without.

One thing you can do is....
Take a piece of 10 speed bike inner tube. Cut about a 2"-3" piece and use it as a sleeve over the grill sides. This will act similar to the bulletiser and also help with grip a bit.

Kills, you may live far enough east to have seen a live Maine lobster before cooking. The seafood folks place rubber bands around the claws to keep from getting pinched. These fit perfectly around a 545 or SM57 and you don't have to go steal a bike just to get a piece of tube. Plus you get a great meal!!

I've used these on my 545 since I watched JR's video on how to hold a stick mic. If the band breaks, I just have another lobster and I'm re-supplied!

I like the ability to have a clean or dirty sound so for now I'll skip the Bulletizer. Thanks for your input.

Thanks Havoc.

The first mic was a EV (electro voice) 627C. It's a low & hi impedance mic. I'm not really sure how to switch it however. Lol. So mine is on low Z.... that's why you ll notice I plugged an XLR cord with an inline Hiz transformer into the amp. This makes the signal Hiz and also converts xlr to 1/4".

The inline transformer I use is a Shure. (I forget the model number) they run about $20.

627c can be had fairly cheap aswell. I have found them as cheap as $15.

Doc, FWIW, I have a 57 with Bulletizer. My experience differs from Killa's somewhat. It fattens thing up when cupped, but for me gets pretty clean when I open up. I've moved the B down the barrel of the mic a bit a little to expose more of the mic. I've used it on a stand playing acoustically and doing a little bit of singing. Seems to work pretty well all round. Killa is pretty far ahead of me playing and tech-wise, tho, and I respect his judgement.

Fil. I see what your saying. There certainly is a difference cupped and uncupped with the bulletiser .... and if you put the bulletiser down further you likely will be able to get it cleaner still.

However you can't get it as clean as without the bulletiser. There is a pretty wide range of sounds that you lose.

I haven't really experimented with having the bulletiser down the mic more .... you may be onto something there. That may be the best of both worlds.

Actually the bulletiser (when instslled as recommended) seems to have an overdriven sound that I can't get otherwise. It changes the color of the mic alot.

I want to make a demo... so that way we all hear the same thing and we can discuss it. It's all up to interpretation right now, lol.
