Can anyone point me in the direction of some good books or websites for chromatic? Loads of diatonic stuff out there but surprisingly little chromatic.

Are you after chromatic-blues, or general purpose chromatic?

Bit of both, although more leaning towards general purpose and folk for the chromatic.
I do like the big fat chords for chrom, but it's really all about diatonic for blues... For me at least. Chrom for folk, melodies etc.
It just seems that online that the resources for chromatic are very 'dry'.
I have the Mel bay chromatic method book, and it's OK.

Here you go. Harp On! Chromatic Harmonica Resource.

http://www.angelfire.com/music/HarpOn/

Tons of great info here.

Almost forgot. Winslow's "Blues Harmonica for Dummies" has a good chapter on the chrom.

I understand that your intent with the chromatic may not be exclusively for blues. But please understand that blues harmonica playing is generally the most demanding style, in terms of technique required and so I suggest that you study chromatic from a blues perspective. You can easily transfer the skills and mindset to play other styles of music.

I think that we would be remiss if no one brought up Dave Barrett's excellent materials:

*the book "Basic Blues Chromatic for the Diatonic Player"
*his website bluesharmonica.com

The website is an excellent resource, I think. He has videos, mp3's, and tabs that lead you through five progressively more challenging blues chromatic songs. They're in a variety of grooves. He also has a bunch of videos on improvising with the chromatic.

Thanks guys, I'll have a look in to all of that.
It all seems so 'serious' with chromatic!
