Thank you so much to rogonzab for publicising this software. It's not generated much interest in the main forum, I'm repeating it here as I do think all beginners who want to experiment with amped harp owe it to themselves to try this out.

You won't hear me say this word often, but this app really is 'awesome'.

Point is you can spend £££ $$$ and much time and luck seeking out vintage equipment, and indulging in tube swaps, biasing levels, alternative and all that. This app lets you play around with the parameters that you are shifting when doing those kind of things.

You might focus on the distortion models, that aspect gets a lot of focus when people discuss tube amps. But IMO at least as important are the excellent parametric filters that let you give the sound a characteristic 'voice' - way beyond the simple hi/med/lo tone controls.

In addition it's got a built-in system for playing along to backing tracks and recording your efforts, so excellent for practice.

Blue Dadi may need a bit of setup on your particular computer, but it's worth it.

I dont know why the main forum didnt explote whit this. This is a perfect way to record at home!!
You can record a cd whit this, if you dont tell any one no one is going to know!

The speaker combinations are awesome. If this would work as a VST in any daw, that would make it in a must on any (home) studio.

I've been experimenting with it this evening, and it really does have it all. For instance, you can re-amp your dry harp signal and so try out different settings with the exact same input.

We've had a lot of discussion on this forum about amps for beginners. And I can understand that people want to own an actual physical amp, but seriously, for home use, practice or recording, this is much more versatile.

This is far and away the best range of harp sounds I've got through recording. And no messy amps, mics, preamps and post-processing. Well just a dab of reverb.

Windows or Mac? I'm using it on Windows, in which case
1. Open the folder 'Blue_Dadi1_1d_support'
2. Run 'Blue Dadi v1_1d_win.exe'

From there you need to switch it on, and set the live input 'On'. You also may need to go into 'Audio Settings' and select the right inputs/outputs.

Any good?

Here's another snippet. I'm going for the trebly, fragile, 1940's radio sound. At least that's how I think about it.

The interesting thing is that this is using the Bulletini. And the Bulletini normally has a robust, strong-bass, angry sort of sound. Or a deep, warm sound when cupped hard.

The Blue Dadi's filtering can change the sound considerably.
