those above are played using my vibrochamp xd and recorded on a different phone in a different cover...like a significantly different all-enclosing-protect your phone from nuclear attack and resulting tsunami-cover...and i dunno as a demo of the amp because ive got gain up on 5, volume on 3.5 which is different to how i would jam with it...i'd usually have gain around 3.5-4 and volume up on 7-8...and i think i had the bass a bit lower and treble a bit higher than usual...i'm experimenting

This page is taking longer and longer to load. We make break the Internet.

Here's one for you that may be useful. In my new mode I'm taking inspiration from the brass section, and I'm happier about that. This is from Paolo Nutini 'Pencil Full of Lead'. Don't judge me, I came to know it because it is a drum exam piece.

Ta superbee. This amp sounds good but I like the recorded sound of your radio-amp better. It could simply be it records better.

I tried to download your riffs, but I can't seem to do that even though there is a download button/link. May just be my browser.

Re the 5OB. That would be a really useful note to have in my new mode, I keep coming across brass phrases that use it. But I found I can only get it on a few harps. A Crossover, the Lee Oskar (both in A) and my now beloved East Top Bb (the £9 one). Explain that with your science :)

The amp wanted to be louder and I was running it set differently than I normally would. I wasn't completely satisfied but I also noticed the huge difference between the recordings and the sound in the room. And I adjusted the sound as I went. The last couple of clips have more bass, less treble. My playing in that first clip sounds very harsh to me.

5OB is the same note as the major 7 in second position. This is the one you get in 'country' tuning (so named due to Charlie McCoy. It's also know as Jazz tuning). It's quite easy to bend for the standard note, although the dynamics when playing are different to overblowing. Not necessarily in a bad way, depends on the song...

You are right about the thread. Quickly unwieldy.

Re sound, I can believe the live sound comparison would be very different. Sadly, recording is all we got.

Re 5OB. Yes I keep thinking about country tuning. If it's called Jazz tuning, I like that a lot better. But you know me and alt-tunings, I'm allergic. And I'd loose the two hole shake on 45, that's worth something.

If we really want to do a vault, a shared Box account would be better, if there is such a facility.

Country tuning makes a harp play 3rd position like 2nd position, 2nd position like 1st...etc...
I worried about alt tunings until I used CT and found that rather than confuse it actually helped me focus.
But you are right, there is always a price to offset the gain

SuperBee, These licks are excellent, as is this topic. I know it's theft, but I cannot figure out how to download and save for later. Are the files locked in some way?

If they are locked, it's unintentional. I've just checked the settings and can't see a reason.
Maybe it's the embed code?
What I can do...sometime soon, not right now...is post the actual links.
I think mtg is right and we probably should have a shared folder...would require knowing email addresses. Mine is linked in my user name

Wow guys. I slipped on this thread for a few days and geez.

Bee the stuff your uploading is fantastic. I gotta go back and really check them out again. The bassline i like alot. I didn't really learn alot of basslines at first. Now im regretting it. I need a few good ones in the arsenal.

One of your licks had a pull in it. Which i liked alot. Im finding that when first starting i tried to play the most complicated thing i could. Or atleast thats what i thought sounded cool.

Now it seems .. i like to play those slower sounding riffs more and more, but i try to add alot of effects to them. Like horton, etc. Slaps, pulls, vibrato, chucks, all kindsa stuff. Sometimes i over complicate it, but you gotta take it too far before you know were that is i guess.

Mtg your stuff is good too. I like it.

As far as the lag..... what if we posted links instead? Would that help?

If not .. im down with a shared Box accnt. Whatever you guys figure out. I really think we can help push eachother to new places. Well idk how much help im going to be, but yall can help push the rest of us to new places ... hows that ... lol

I think alot of people are dying to hear different licks and ideas. And i think this could go pretty well if we can figure it out right.

If we end up getting more people involved eventually.... it could be really cool.

Anyways my email is listed if you need it.

Im trying to come up with some licks, but yall are just putting really good stuff out there. Imma have to step my game up

It is a good idea. Yes, maybe links would be a help.

If I were thinking of the ideal system, it would have the feature of being able to tag the entries with multiple tags. So you could search by all kinds of things e.g. 'Walter Horton', '5 Hole', 'Turnaround'.

That's the modern way, rather than having to put each one in a single category.

What did yall figure out about a shared account?

What about posting them to a facebook page?

What if I started a harp licks facebook group?

Im doin it right now. That ll work.
