I'm copying this here, with Grey Owl's kind permission, because I think it's a really valuable recording.

When someone new comes in, wondering about the sort of difference they might get in output sound from different models of (quality) harp, we can refer them to this. It's a nice recording, with the same short pieces repeated so a great comparison. And he's now put it in a video so you can look at the harps go by too.

Thanks Grey Owl!

My own take on it is that, for my level of playing, the differences between them isn't very important. Other considerations like practical things are more important to me. But for you it may be different.

When I was starting out, it was a big question though - if I buy another harp will it sound very different?

For completeness I should add that Grey Owl had adjusted them all so they played OK, so they are not exactly as out of the box.

Great video.

Shame Lee Oskar didn't even get nominated this year... :)
