I am using a universal 312 mic, whit a theharpmicshop.com dynamic element. Nothing fancy.

I was given a Mustang III v1 a short while back and have been playing about with it; There's an Android app that can be used to control the Mustang amps called Remuda; it's not free, but it isn't expensive and works pretty well to tweak the amp if you don't have a PC or you want to make alterations on the fly.

rogonzab - I missed these first time round. Tasteful playing, I wish you were louder in the mix (you can tell your band that :)) Seriously, speaking as a listener rather than a harpist, I think the harp adds a level of spice to these kind of songs, and it shouldn't be in the background!

You are all squeezed into a tiny space there :)

On the Champion 40, I had high hopes for this amp as I think they sound really solid for guitar. And as you say, so light to carry. But I borrowed one and was disappointed with the soft, compressed sound of the models. Fine for playing soft comping, but when I lean on a note I'd like it to respond.

But I'm going to revisit it (and the Champion 100) but on the clean channel using the newly modded Joyo JF14 box to see if it will be a bit more dynamic and raw.

I do think that people who only have access to a modelling amp might think that the sound is THE sound (and it is for a large part) but when you play it side-by-side with a real tube amp, it's only then you perceive the difference. I do think this is relevant to beginners, not just for the experienced.

And believe me, I'm no tube-amp ludite. I can't see why transistors and models can't do anything that tubes can. I'm frustrated by the fact that they generally don't, for harp.

Ide actually be interested to try this amp again. Now that i know how to setup an amp a lil better.

I was unaware of the app. That could have made all the difference in my getting rid of it.

I missed those videos the first time around aswell. I can't watch them at the moment. But i will check them out soon.

MindTheGap, stage sound is such a mistery thing, I remember very well the night of that videos, and in the stage I was so loud! but in the recording I am lost in the mix.

This is a recording using my "final settings" of the champion 40: 65` princeton, volume at 10, gain at 4, bass and treble at 5. It sounded full and I was able to cut ttrough the mix better (I think).

That sounds great: amped sound and playing AND the mix :) When I try the Champion again, I'll try those settings too. It could having the master volume at 10 gives it more zip.
