Hi folks I've just seen that harmonicas direct in the uk are selling the hohner highlander harmonica for £29.99, apparently they're sold out but will honour any orders they receive.
It seems to be quite a saving.
Could't tell you what its like to play and I don't have any conections to harmonicas direct other than that's where I buy most of my harp stuff.
Greg.

As far as i can tell greg,it's a tremolo moothie but has the 7th flattened to allow you too play mixolydian. As opposed tae major/first position. The Scottish moothie player Donald Black i think worked wae Hohner to get this one out there. It's good for bagpipe tunes and laments,or at least thats what Donald uses it for. But all sorts can be played on it. If you take your C diatonic and play your major scale in the middle octave, but substitute the B for a Bb...overblow in hole 6...thats the scale the highlander is in. Cheers Al.

And how it plays? I've only had a toot on a couple and they felt okay, but i'm a pretty dodgy tremolo player at the best of times.
