I've got a bunch of Hohner harmonicas with broken reeds Big river, Marine band and Special 20. Is there anywhere I can order spare reeds for them? Somewhere simple and cheap, considering I'm from Canada. Thanks!

According to the price list of the replacement parts on Hohner's web site, there is no replacement reed or reedplate for either Big River, Marine band or Special20. Does anyone know if it's possible to find spare reeds for these harps ?

I've not checked their site for a while, but I think that harponline sell Hohner reeds, and they ship overseas. ---------- YouTube SlimHarpMick

Anyone knows about any other option ? harponline.com sells full reedplates only for about 20$ and the shipping from Germany is another 20$ So its 40$ for a repair on a 35$ harp.

Francois, I'd try calling them at the number Tolga gave you. They may be able to help you on the phone even if the website doesn't have something listed, but the other option is mixing and matching from the harps you've got or buying some used lots on eBay. I think SP20's and Marine Band reeds are interchangeable (but not with the Big River).
I'm not sure if Rockin' Rons has individual reeds. Rockin' Rons He's at least only across the border, not across the ocean. I'm pretty sure I've heard people say he delivers to Canada. Some of the customizers might have some spare reeds lying around. Here's a list of customizers with as much contact info as I've got. I'm not sure if any of them sell single reeds. Customizers

In the US, the replacement reed plates being sold for all of the Hohner MS series harps (BR/BH/CH/MK/Pro Harp models) is the Cross Harp plates, which if you have a BR/Pro Harp/Blues Harp is actually an upgrade to the stock plate with a thicker reed plate.
In Europe, you can get the stock reed plates for any of the MS series harps directly from Hohner in Germany (different website than the US one).
Hohner last week just announced that they are now selling Sp20 reed plates directly through them. The reeds are the same for the GM/Sp20/MB, but the screw holes won't be aligned the same way, so some drilling may be necessary for models other than the Sp20.
NONE of the MS series harps are gonna be interchangeable with the GM/Sp20/MB/MBD/MBXover at all.
Jim is right in using the older reeds from your other harps but most of the time the average player is unlikely to start removing individual reeds (as the vast majority doesn't have either the patience the correct tool to do it).
HOhner USA definitely will ship the Canada. Too bad they closed their old Don Mills, Ontario HQ's they used to have in Canada back around the early 90's because I ordered stuff from them that wasn't available in the US at the time, like the old wooden boxes that the Larry Adler chromatics used to use. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

I wonder if the Sp20 reed plates will fit an MBDX without drilling/tapping?

@joshnat --- None of the different MB models will not be able to use the Sp20 reed plates without some drilling because none of the screw holes will line up properly at all, and I mentioned all of them in my post. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
