i like blues harp MS, marine band 1896 and 2005
i'd use screws to build the MB 1896...that'd do me...anything else i need, is no drama to do myself...i mean, if you did everything to it, it'd be a 2005, and there already is one

I don't want to pi$$ on your bonfire mate, but what has gender or age got to do with anything in such a survey or petition?

ianharpo- If they know you are so old you are about to die they won't worry about your complaint! I suppose gender would be useful information for their marketing team.

What country do you live Russia
is it cost effective to return Faulty Harmonicas for refund from your country No, Russian post is extra slow and enough pricey. I'd better repair harmonicas myself.
Are you happy with Hohner Customer service if no please explain why Never try.
are you a - Male or Female Male
age please 26
Do you play Hohner Harmonicas if Yes how many Years Yes, 10 years.
Are you a Learner, intermediate, Advanced, Pro Player I'm pro player.
What made you Buy Hohner Harmonicas All other brands are hardly available here.
Are you happy with Hohner Harmonicas Not completely happy, but Hohner is nice harp.
If you answer NO Please state your Hohner Harp of choice why you are unhappy with this Product 1) Brass reeds need to be retuned relatively often. 2) Inconsistent quality with tolerances.
Do you intend to Keep using Hohner Harmonicas Yes
Would you recommend Hohner Harmonicas to Friends Yes
Have you tried other Brands Seydel, Suzuki, Hering, Tombo
Have you recently changed from Hohner harmonica or thinking of changing Brands I stop buying hohner, but keep playing hohners I have.
if you answer yes to the above question please explain why I'm seydel dealer and I have a nice discount. Stainless steel reeds are always in tune and I love stainless steel tone a bit more.
Do you think the new Blister pack system is Friendly to our environment Yes, you will be sure you're buying new harmonica, not played by bunch of people in store.
do you think the new Blister pack system has forced the latest price increase It's possible.
Do you think can we improve our services or make changes to our Product line Yes
what is your Favourite Hohner Harmonica how can we improve this model to suit your needs I prefer golden melodies, but I hate it's comb and inconsistent reed tolerances. I dislike short slotted high harps. G, Ab, A, Bb, B, C are great harps. Db and higher a bit worse, I'd prefer seydel for high keys. ---------- Excuse my bad English. lol..........The other thing is that the contract is with the store. If the the damn thing is defective take it back to the store. They have to change it or give you refund by law. (well that's how it is in the uk, I can't speak for elsewhere)
"gender useful to their marketing team"??? Hmmm let see then; NOD collects 8 surveys and 1 of them is filled out by a female.....and Hohner will base their marketing based on that? I think thats a bit niaive. should we have another question about ethnicity? or sexual preference? No! Why? because it makes no difference.
Some of the other questions are a bit meaningless too: What does it matter if all of us think that the blister pack has forced the latest price increase? surely it either has or it hasnt.
Sorry, but I dont think this is gonna fly

I do understand, NOD. I've been angry at inanimate objects, too. I've kicked at tables that have reached out and tripped me. I've thrown down harps--including a Marine Band or two--that no longer worked. They're just things. They have feelings, but until cyborgs take over the world, thing-feelings aren't something we need to worry about.
As for the people who run the big companies that sell the things that we like to hate: to each his own. In this day and age, I don't think it's good corporate policy to accept returns on things that people put in their mouths and into which they inject spit and bad feelings, but some people will differ, and I don't begrudge them their difference.
I recorded 13 of the 14 tracks on my new album with OTS MB harps. They had the feel and the sound that I love. But it's a wide, wide world, and I don't begrudge anybody who chooses different harps. I do, however, think it's probably better, in the long run, not to invest quite so many negative feelings in particular brands of harmonicas. I see at as wasted energy that could better be spent making music. But again: that's just me, and you have every right to make different choices.

I do, however, think it's probably better, in the long run, not to invest quite so many negative feelings in particular brands of harmonicas.
I concure and have put a positive on my survey and will add my thoughts and improvments on other Models i would buy if they only did ect, ect, ect
I see at as wasted energy that could better be spent making music. I been makeing music learning new tunes and just in the final stages of restoring a 1965 model More Brothers Tube amp and finish this little session and going to take a 20 min walk to the Post office with my dog to Post a vintage mic Microphone:)
it's all Happening Here Bro:)

i played hohner for years. 1896 and then sp20's. big rivers. a few chromatic to boot. my complaint was always that the reeds blew out too easily even after i began to learn to use less air and more focus. even today hohner is behind the curve on advances in reed material and technology. these days i can get a superior harp for 30% less than a mb deluxe. deluxe has those same soft reeds used in most all hohner harps. why would i go back to a lesser harp? availability? i'm lucky to live in the states where everybody has different harps available.
i am not a harp tweaker past filing a flat reed here and there and keeping the harps i use clean. i don't want to HAVE to tweak a brand new harp. it's like buying a new car and immediately putting it in the shop for a tune up.this was the main reason i quit buying mb's and later sp20's ( which are about the only hohner model i have in my case now). i want a more durable harp. i'm a high amateur or low level pro. i gig about twice a month on average and play at jams 2 or 3 times a month. my harps get a lot of use. they have to last. hohner disappointed me over and over through a lot of years. i will not likely go back to them.

I'm with jbone to a large degree. I play with what works without work. 40 years ago I split my lips with the MB comb. I switched to LOs for a while and then turned to the special 20s. I discovered the Suzuki line which to me plays and sounds the way I want. I have Bluesmaster, Harpmaster, and Manji sets. The price is right for my pocket. So my special 20s and LOs sit on the shelf as extreme backups. To paraphrase Cheech and Chong...I don't need no stinkin' surveys. I prefer to let my dollar do my talking. That's what the big company hears best in my opinion. I say vote with your wallet. However if sending surveys to someone floats your boat, it sure can't hurt.

I have passed on my affliction of "anger toward inanimate objects" to my 19 yr old son. He got angry the other night and punched the wall..(hit a stud)..broke his hand...his new nickname is "STUD"...Played Hohners for 30+ years. MB / Blues Harps / SP20's. Like MB's and SP20 the most. Play Custom MB's now. If I need a replacement in a hurry I'll get a Seydel Solist pro (thanks Jeff !!) .....just because they are generally better than MB's out of the box. I don't bother with Hohner Customer service. If I cant fix it I'll send it to some one who can....but I find that a Custom Harp lasts a lonnnggg time. I have a couple of "Dude Harps" that have been going strong for several years. ----------

I see they come with a 60 day warranty-send bad harp, receipt and completed warranty form (print out from Hohner website) to:
Hohner, Inc. Harmonica Warranty Service 1000 Technology Park Drive Glen Allen, VA 23059
Would I ever actually do this? Probably not- I'd take a chance and try to tune it/gap it myself

i feel like i should qualify my earlier statement. i am expecting a couple of customized mb's before long. i have had a couple some years ago and they were pretty awesome. my point though, is still valid. if i can get a superior product for less cash, i am compelled to do so. manji is my main harp these days with mostly delta frost for backup. to me manji is pretty much what hohner could have evolved the mb into and maybe kept me interested. now that they have moved in that direction- sort of- it's still much more feasible for me to use manji instead.
