On the bottom of most of the Hohner harps I have is a label with a description of the harp and then some numbers and letters.
For example I have a Blues Harp which has the following on the label
532/20 MS BB BLUES HARP
M533116
1 - 015.321 - 2021/6
Do any of these codes refer to the date the harp was made?
I've had a look and there is nothing on the reedplates.

There's got to be a harp boffin who knows the answer somewhere Tooka.

Right...I bet no-one can tell me the significance of the codes in the first post above are.

That harp is from the future, 2021/6 is June 2021! Tell me, have they made any improvements yet? When you play it, does it make all the lights in your house turn on?

They stopped placing production dates on MS harps for at least the last 5-7 years on the reed plates, which is a shame. My guess the numbers on the label on the boxes have more to do with actual inventory than anything else. None of those numbers since the MS series has been out has ever had anything to do with production dates as far as I know.

If BBQ doesn't know maybe you need to go to the source. I bet if you emailed Hohner there is a good chance they'd let you in on the secret.

Kingo is right...it's a conspiracy. Those codes are written in Barbequese. Bob is their leader.....harmonicas are collectors of Breathforce!!!

If you look on the blow plate to the right on a Marine Band with the Cover Plate off you will see a stamp 0610 .. is june 2010 ... 0608 is june 2008 .. and so on ....i got some 0500 . i call them my meleinem harps ....I dont know what they do on other harps ...
