Thanks to all who answered my question regarding lo F harps. I look forward to getting one.
I'm going to David Barrett's workshop in May and need to buy a lo F and upgrade some of my blown out harps. About a year back there was a thread commenting on several retailers specifically Musician's Friend, The Instrument Store, Coast to Coast, and Rockins Ron's Music. I was thinking of getting Bushman Delta Frosts or Suzuki Bluesmasters that have worked for me in the past.
Any recent experiences with these retailers that could be shared on line?
Thx again.

Although I've never ordered from C2C I can say that Rock-n-Ron's got my low F here from the opposite coast in two days. And he called me when it shipped ! ---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. Excellent service and good prices from Rockin' Ron, Harmonicas and Stuff, and Coast 2 Coast. Can't go wrong w/ any of these!
Musician's Friend is great to do business with, but their prices for harmonicas are not as good as the others.

Every time there is a thread like this all I hear is people praising Rockin' Rons. I've used Coast 2 Coast and they were all right, but nothing in their service made me want to go out and start evangelizing for them. I'm going to use Rockin' Rons the next time my local store doesn't have what I want. (In other words, the next time I want something beside an older model Hohner or a Lee Oskar.

Last time there was a thread like this everyone said Rockin Rons, so I decided to order my High G from him.
It was the cheapest price online and shipped really fast. He also called me to make sure I was cool that it wasn't in a blister pack, and told me about a special deal. Nice dude, great service!

Give that fellow MBH member, 'rbeetsme' a chance to earn your business.
He hooked me up with a couple of Bushmen for my new Jarhead buddy in Afghanistan with a very fast turnaround.
Package is enroute to the SSGT right now.
I'm a big fan of keeping it 'in the family'.

Dunno.
I saw his post here and contacted him.
I agree with the Rockin' Ron opinions as a solid source.
But, I wanted to give Rick a shot. He came through just fine.

Musician's Friend is obviously who I'm working with on this website, and I've never had less than excellent service from them.
But Rockin' Ron's is terrific, too. They returned my phone message within an hour and we worked out a plan to get me two Marine Band harps within 48 hours. They arrived within 48 hours.
Two excellent retailers, as far as I'm concerned. The big-box retailer and the specialty shop.

I should add that I used Kevin's Harps many years ago, and happily, but they're no longer connected with the founder, Kevin McGowan (a great guy, BTW), and the one recent experience I had with them, about two years ago, was not good. I do not recommend them.

Kevin's Harps website is now owned by the people who own the Harp Depot site now. Until a couple of years ago when he passed away, if you wanted a chromatic, F&R Farrell not only had the best prices, but best service and hands down best inventory whenever it came to chromatics. Unfortunately, when Dick Farrell passed away, his kids no longer wanted to be bothered with the business. He also had some pretty cool harp tools as well.
I've had excellent dealings with both Coast To Coast Music as well as Rockin' Ron's. If you can't find certain things that aren't available in the US, I'd also look into http://www.harponline.de and http://www.harmonicas-direct.co.uk. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Musicians Friend charges sales tax here, and they do not ship for free as far as I know, People can buy where they choose , but Rockin Rons is the best Harp dealer I have ordered merchandise from. Fast personal service and quick delivery. plus fair prices !!

I've bought a few harps from Coast to Coast with very good results, and my last 2 or 3 Suzuki's on Amazon/The Instrument Store, also with good results. But I think I'll be trying Ron's next time, after reading how happy everybody is with his personal service. ---------- I used to be young and foolish. Now I'm not so young.
