Hi Guys
Just thought I'd pass this along. Elderly Instruments has 20% off harmonicas until Feb 12th. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a happy customer, I've been to their shop in Michigan several times and purchased online as well.
I just ordered 3 MB Crossovers at the discounted price. :)
I was sent an email with the following: Elderly Instruments - www.elderly.com 20% Off On All HARMONICAS!!!
Attention All Harmonica Players: The price of Hohner Harmonicas will be increasing (after February 15th). So for one week only, until Friday, February 12th, 2010 - to encourage you to buy before the price increase - we're offering all of our Harmonicas at 20% Off our regular discount prices. We have hundreds of great harps in stock - and we carry most of the popular models. And if we don't have the instrument that you want, we'll do our best to order it for you - at the sale price, of course.
Just enter the coupon code 45211 in the space provided in our website shopping cart, and the discount will be shown in the check-out summary.

I live about 4 hours away in Canada so I don't get to take advantage of the seminars although I'd love to. My Dad lives in Michigan about an hour from the store so I often stop by Elderly when I visit him. They always have an awesome selection of instruments on hand. I bought my Gibson J45, a Kentucky Mandolin, harps and lots of CD's and books from them over the years. They are probably one of, if not the biggest, shops for bluegrass and folk instruments in the US.

Jon, that's a good idea. I personally think having a complete keyset is much more of a priority than amassing tons of other gear-although I do envy your mic collection! ----------

with the discount its $25 per marine band. so if you order 5 thats like getting a free harp. or something like that. i really wanna save for an amp...but...ehh...deals like this dont come every day. not a GREAT deal but it make a good excuse.
what would really be a good idea is to buy a bass harp or chord harp then that 20% will make a big difference. ----------

Jon- Just be careful with bass harps, some are really only baritones. I get confused. Every country seems to use some different way to write what C they are relative to. I'm pretty happy with just my low tuned LLF harp, but that's just one key. Bass harps are C/C# top-bottom arrangements, aren't they? Tombo actually shows where on the piano their different scales are, but I don't think you can get any of their harps besides the Lee Oskars in the U.S.
I just had to put a new tire on my car, and I'm saving up for a computer or I might take advantage of that. I still need a Db and B to round out the 12 basic keys, and still have a few models I want to try before I pick what harp is my go to harp.

Jon- Cool. I know how you feel. I like walking into a store and walking out with a harp. That's why I still don't have the Db and B. They are never in stock. I still have somehow never played a Marine Band or a Manji, but I don't want to waist those on Db and B. (I have 3 Blues Harps, 3 L.O.'s, a GM, a SP20, a Seydel Blues Favorite, a chrometta, some tremolos, and some Piedmont's to fill out the keys. I want to try a diminished harp and I really want a Low D.

I think I might try to fill out my set as well & update one or two. I didn't see this sale listed on their site so I guess it was just to previous customers? Anyway, thanks for the tip Scoltx.

Guys - Sorry or you're welcome, which ever fits. :)
@Ryan - they aren't showing the sale on the site, you can just put in the coupon code during the checkout.
I spent $148 on back ordered MB Crossovers, which they don't expect until the end of the month, then I have to wait for shipping, customs etc. By the time I get my harps I will have forgotten that I ordered them!

Evidently Db harmonicas are special order on their site. I ordered upgrades for my C & D as well as bought an Ab & E Cost per harp: $26 I'm thinking I saved $8/harp vs what they'll be a week from now. Thanks for the tip Scoltx :) .
