I am looking to buy a new rack because the one I have (Hohner I think), let's the harmonica slide backward. There is nothing to hold it in place except two little arms that move but won't lock into place. This is a terrible design and I have seen other cheep ones that do a better job of keeping the harp in place. I was curious how many here think some of the more expensive ones are worth the price.

I think the farmer archtop harmonica holder is worth the money,

I modded a cheap wire rack by filing two grooves at the angle I wanted into plastic washers that I put inbetween the join.
I also bent the vertical arms to a slight curve for a bit of height adjustment.

It's a tough call but really would come down to how much you play rack vs not. I think the more expensive ones are better, but worth it is a individual thing.

If you do go with the Farmer, be sure to check your cover plates to see if you have any that aren't ferrous. Easttop has some aluminum cover plates so the magnet won't hold it.

I use a Lee Oskar for one reason: I can bend it to position it exactly how I want.

That’s basically what the expensive ones do.

The Lee Oscars aren’t designed to be bent, but they’re easy to “mod”

Any other rack I’ve ever tried has been unusable for me.
