It looks like you might need something a little hotter than a Digitech RP or similar to use as the input/preamp. From that(above) reading it sounds like it needs something stronger than a standard line level signal. You might be able to step up a line out signal with some little transistor op-amp chip.

Unfortunately, it does not look promising for a straight plug-n-play, but that would not necessarily prevent me from trying something. Mic signals might be hot enough.
