Ever since I've started playing rack harp I've been on a quest to get a simple rack setup that gets a big fat sound. I've finally got something that is reliable and sounds awesome. The rack I use has been 'Frankensteined' together from various pieces from other racks. It was created in such a way so that it can be amplified easily and it can emulate the sound of a 'cupped' harmonica. The main piece of this rack I designed myself and had 3d printed here in Montreal. The 3d printed piece was made to hold a small microphone (Sennheiser e604) up to the 'cup' of the harmonica rack and also mount easily to a 'Jim Dunlop Harp Handle'. I also made a custom right angle XLR cable so that the rack can be plugged in from behind my neck rather that infront of my face. The final touch is a small neodynium magnet which holds that harmonica in place and allows for super fast harp-switching. Let me know if you have any more questions or are interested in doing something similar yourself! None of this really makes sense without pictures! (Not sure how to make them smaller!)

I only sing backup in 1 or 2 songs in our duo. For this I just sing straight into the harp mic and it works fine. I don't use any overdrive or anything on the harp channel so the sound is clean and therefor the vocals are clean. Cheers
