Any suggestions for anything other than a Fred Mc Dowel or Stones version appreciated. Something for a 3 piece, harp guitar and bass and no slide guitar! Cheers JG

One of my favorite tunes, first song I learned on Slide guitar and great to double with harp.
You could do anything with it. Easy to play in 2nd position. If you want to do something different with it I'd start with a new rhythmic style, then work the harp melody on top.
I'm trying to find a YouTube link I can send to my buddies so we can be working off the same page. The bass player and I have done it before with another band. Our guitar player isn't a slide player and I was hoping to find any other version that maybe wasn't so slide orientated. There are just so many in the list I was hoping someone here may have a favourite version we could consider. We're playing for beer, so best if we leave it until later in the set!
Try a reggae blues version, but stick to the melody on harp. Maybe a natural minor harp would be easier to jam it in Reggae style too. Should be easy enough for guitar doing a reggae groove.
You could imagine this version slowed down a touch and reggaefied with a fatter bass. Or maybe even just do it like Sam the man does. Great version!
My friend Flavio recorded with his band Blues Etilicos Robert Johnson's "Come On In My Kitchen" which has almost the same pattern You may check in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNwKPdzgMdU
