I wrote this on FB and I think that someone here may find it usefull.

-------------------------------------

How to use an EQ pedal (like the behringer or the BOSS) to fight against the evil feedback:

100hz: If you are playing live, you can remove some of this because that is bass player territory.

200hz and 400hz: This is where the low mids of the harp lives. It dependes on the harp and the amp, but a boost here is usefull.

800hz: leve it at 0.

1.6khz: Where the definition of harp lives. Boost here to cut the mix better.

3.2khz: remove a few db from here if your tone knob does not goes this far

6.4khz: remove 5db to 10db. You dont use this frecuencys but your mic can pick it up really fast (feedback)

Gain: This is the trick. If you put down the gain by -10db... you get a Mojo Pad!!! It is the same principle, lowering the gain before the amp, so that would help a lot.

Sorry for any misspell, english is not my first language.

I often use a lone wolf harp attack straight to pa and have thought about enhancing the desired frequency with an eq pedal. Would you use the eq between the mic and the Harp Attack or between the Harp Attack and the pa?

I have used the same set up and found that with a one mike it was best to have the EQ after the Harp attack and into the PA, with different mike the EQ was best before it.
Not much help i know but i thought that it was worth mentioning that results can vary depending on the mike.

Thanks indigo. Did having the eq significantly improve the sound of the Harp Attack through the pa?
