I've been asked by an Iranian player to share the following link. I'm not sure how many MBH forum members have the wherewithal to attend--but if you do, and you send me footage, I WILL share it.

Maybe I can shift some schedule. I've been wanting to debut my new arrangement of, "Head Rag".

It's an original, not to be confused with the song with the same name by Blind Melon Sheikh. This is more like "The Infidel Prisoner Shuffle". Flat tire beat, 12 akhbar, went to number one with a bullet.

Some people are confused and imagine that Persians (Iranians) are Arabs. That's sort of like confusing Irishmen with Englishmen.

I do know that in both cultures they are really serious about the judges decision being final.

To those of you who decided to respond to this posting with bigoted and closeminded outlooks on the world, get off this forum or rethink your perspective.

This is a worldwide harmonica forum, and as a result, let us be welcoming to everyone. Adam posted this as a way to try and bring us all together and open our eyes to the world.

I'd love to go but unfortunately my wife would refuse to wear a blanket over her head all day.

The responses in this thread are appalling. How would you like it if I responded to every thread about the American south with comments about lynching, segregation and pedophilia? Have a bit of class.

I think it is class to not want to subject your wife and/or daughter to a regime of medieval subjugation, humiliation and possible death because of what she has chosen to wear.
This,is case you haven't noticed is AD2018.
OK give me a straight answer..would a female Harp Player
be allowed to attend this event?

I don't want to get into an argument here, but Iran is not Saudi Arabia. And even if it were, I don't think making derogatory and borderline racist comments (not you specifically) on an unrelated event is the right way to voice your opposition. I suggest you look up some of the more recent history there. That'll be my last comment on this thread.

Answering my question wouldn't be getting into an argument..you would be just stating a Fact(either way)

Ok, I'm giving you a straight answer. Check this link and then check your prejudice: http://iranharmonicateam.com/harmonicateammembers/

Edit: Knew I shouldn't have got involved in this, but I couldn't stop myself. Enjoy the weekend, I'm done here.

I tried to take the gentle and ironic approach, above, to what some might be tempted to see as offensively retrograde postings, in part because Buzadero is a longtime member who has made literally hundreds of helpful and generous posts, not somebody known for creating bad vibes. But I'm glad that others, including pythonbeg, were offended by where this thread went. I share that feeling.

I'm going to lock this thread, leave it alone for a couple of days so that everybody can reflect on it, then delete it.

Here, fwiw, is the Iran harmonica team page that pythonbeg posted, hyperlinked.
