I am dialing in a set up for OMB/live looping. I currently am running a harp mic and a guitar through a pedal board into a Boss RC300. Also into the RC300 is a SM57 to mic my foot drums and percussive elements.
My question is now where to send all of this.
My current amp that I have been using as a do all is a 77 silver face Champ and I like the tone I'm getting from the guitar and the harp through it I just know that when I start gigging, I'm going to need more volume.
I consider the Champ to be a pretty clean amp, but if I run that set up straight into a PA, am I going to be disappointed in the difference in tone? I know that's a subjective question, but do you think it will really matter if I've dialed my pedal board into a tone I'm happy with? ---------- E.B.

Don't know if this will give you what you need but Skip Simmons (http://skipsimmonsamps.com) builds a one tube pre amp that fits in a jacket pocket. Good tube sound and perfect for PA's. Musslewhite got one and used it on a tour of Europe & Russia specifically as a PA go-between. No need to hassle about the amp he'd find in a given city. Rick Estrin and Kim Wilson, among others, got one too. ---------- BnT

Yeah I was thinking about something like that. I knew about the Harp Attack but I'll shoot Skip an email. Thanks. ---------- E.B.

For about $110 you can get a Sennheiser E609 and hang in down the front of your Champ.
