I love Colter Wall.

He's also the son of the premier of Saskatchewan -- fun fact.

My favorite thing about him (apart from his Townes Van Zandt covers) is the way he uses the Canadian landscape and Canadian social history to create his blues/country mythology rather than recycling tropes from the American South. Check out this tune:
