Great, now I'm going to be trying to figure that out all day!

There is one bit where I can almost hear the words for it...

Rod Serling had at least one other episode where harmonica really annoyed someone... a hick used to to prevent an alien invasion in one episode!

He had a cottage on Lake Cayuga right next to my grandmother's. I was too little to know who he was back then. He died in '75, which would have made me about four.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :)

Nate, I grew up in Corning NY, about 1 1/2 hours from Ithaca. I attended the community college in Corning in the mid 70's. Mr. Serling came and did some kind of lecture one afternoon and a q&a afterward. This was one day I wish I'd paid more attention. He was a very engaging man.

That was a wild episode where Slim Pickens(?) fended off the evil aliens with a harmonica!

jbone-Not Slim Pickens. It was Andy Devine.

This explains a lot; obviously anyone who has ever heard me play is an alien

jbone, I do remember a couple stories about his dog. I used to throw rocks in the water for him figuring he wouldn't get it, but I got yelled at because he'd get A rock, if not THE rock, and he'd chew on it.

Also we had a pair of Siamese cats we'd bring with us and apparently they beat up his dog once too. :)

I had a couple brushes with famous creative types when I was a kid that I just didn't know enough to take in at the time. (Actually, one of my neighbors was Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s nephew. I didn't realize until after Vonnegut had passed though.)

All,
I'm afraid that i haven't made much of an first impression here...
I didn't know that i even had replies to my question.I came back to check and see.I think i might have to configure this board so that i get a notification.

Thank you very much for the answer to my question.

I don’t think you can get notified. You just have to check back.

I think you’ve responded in acceptable time. I’ve seen much less impressive first impressions. At least you did come back. Not everyone does.

SuperBee,

I think you're right... I thought this was like some of the other boards i'm on.. No worries. I like it in here.. I think between this board and my original one.. i'll be good for good company and lotsa harp tawk(Long Island accent)

BTW.. My Old Boss Has a Super Bee a Purple one..I think he had someone restore part of it and i think that HE did some of the work on it too.
Thanks again
