I’m exclusively on Powerbender and love it. It provides me with a versatility similar to Richter while making the whole process of learning the thing much more simple and intuitive. The juicy 1st octave remains the same, there is no change of breath pattern in the upper octave and draw bends are available at every hole. I’m so glad that I can play that top octave without twisting my brain upside down. One of the things that mind-boggles me about Richter is that one can’t do a second octave Blues Scale in 2nd Position without using Overbends. Seriously! I wasn’t okay with these deficiencies when I started to learn the harmonica and I don’t really get what I’m missing out on by not being on Richter bandwagon.

I have to say that I am not interested in X-reeds and such because one of the beauties of diatonic harmonicas, for me, is in its simplicity. Besides, my harp already has more music in it than I’ll be able to extract out in a lifetime. It’s already the most music per square inch than any other instrument that I can think of.
