Watching this put me in mind of a guitarist i know who is totally closed to any mention of music jargon. I wish he would be more open to learning just a little theory. Its so much easier to get on the same page if you have some of the lingo.
Of course Richard is on a more harp specific mission here. I like his idea of learning to improvise by relating it to how we learn to talk, which he outlined in the previous video. I think he advocated a 5th position minor pentatonic scale in that video, but he didnt really go into it, it was more like a teaser for the upcoming session

At 6:08 he sings 1 b3 4 b5 5 but uses the words 1 2 3 4 5.
So I like the video and wanted to improve.


If breakfast gets too casual, throw some Roman numerals in.
