I see that Hohner worldwide offers Rocket Low reedplates, and that Hohner US does not. Rockin' Rons doesn't have Rocket Low reedplates. Ebay doesn't have them, Amazon doesn't have them...Does anybody have them for sale? I need to buy a bunch.

LevelUp - Unfortunately, Hohner is not a very "parts friendly" company. Even if you could find the reed plates the odds are that you will spend almost as much, just for the reed plates, as you would pay for and entire new harp.

Case in point. Go to the Hohner C-Shop andook for reed plates. Here's the direct link.

http://www.hohnershop.com/reed-plates-3/

You will see that reed plates for the MS Blues Harp, Pro Harp and Big River sell for $28.00. You can buy Big Rivers on eBay all day long for $22.00.

Golden Melody Reed Plates - $33
Marine Band Deluxe Reed Plates - $45
Marine Band Crossover Reed Plates - $45
Special 20/Rocket Reed Plates - $28

If Special 20 plates are $28, rest assured that the low tuned Rocket plates will be more.

All these prices are at, or only slightly below, the cost of a complete new harp if you shop around a bit.

I was curious so I looked it up. I found the Rocket reed plates on the Hohner wesite in Germany.

http://www.hohner-cshop.de/en/Harmonica/Richter-Diatonic/Progressive/Rocket-Low/

The reed plates for th low tuned Rocket are 29.95 Euros, which is about $35.44 US Dollars.

So, with the retail prices on low tuned Rockets being about $80, maybe I jumped the gun with my original opinion. If you could get the reed plates directly from Germany, they would be about half the cost of a new harp. I stand corrected.

If you're in the USA, my experience has been that global c-shop orders and inquiries are redirected to KHM, the USA c-shop, even if the product is only available in the global c-shop.

As mentioned above, you might try an affiliated customizer to fill the order in the states.

I am an Authorized Hohner Dealer. I buy tons of harps from KHS but not many parts. They are two separate departments. That said, I just called my contact in the parts department and asked about the availablility of Low Tuned Rocket Reed Plates. The answer was that they won't have them for another 8-12 months.

Seems you could use an agent based in another country. Probably not Australia but somewhere in Europe would probably be ideal.
I have one in US to send me stuff which locals won’t ship outside the continent for whatever reason.

The Rocket Low is a strange beast. I was recently at the Hohner factory in Tossingen. I popped into the local factory supplied shop to get an Low Eb Rocket, only to be told that model wasn’t available in Germany. In fact they didn’t even know it was available in the UK!

That's interesting. Similarly, the Marine Band Deluxe is no longer available in the US but is still available in Europe. Curious marketing decisions.

Libertad - it seems you were given wrong information. The Rocket Low is sold in Germany (and the EU) on the Thomann website. The Low Eb is in stock for 59€.
