I keep seeing this mic on Amazon and it looks interesting, but i don't see this talked about in any of the threads, is it good, bad , or just too expensive.
The idea of it being locked between the fingers, and the volume control up out of the way, are points I like,
No, haven´t used it. But it´s a trebly little thing, that´s is my impression from listening to it. Here are some views from a few years ago: http://www.planetharmonica.com/ph2/VE/TMResultatsUK.htm
I have one and I do not use it...as Martin pointed out...it is just too trebly for my taste...I do use the "Shaker" Dynamic Mic... and the "Bottle O Blues Mic" are all I use...
All of my amps are 5 watters so what I use may or may not work for the high wattage amps!
Here is a video of me using a Shaker Dynamic Mic :)
I bought the latest Mad Dog Shaker mic and I've got to say I love it. Light, comfortable, volume control in the perfect place and I like the tone. I've got an RE 10 and also a Buletini and I keep pulling the Mad Dog out. The Mad Dog isn't the same as the Mad Cat, here's a review I found on the net.
"If you use a Shaker mic with an impedance matching transformer into the input of your amp your Shaker mic becomes super charged, driving your amp into aural overdrive. All Shaker harmonica microphones are really two very different units in one. Direct to amp has the traditional Shaker tone and response. Used with a line-matching transformer: High output, hot and driven. Maximum flexibility, it’s your choice."
Above is a direct quote from shaker Looks like it is a low impedance mike(500ohms)
I'm not looking for a trebly mic, so the mad cat's out, the other one sound pretty good though I'm going to have to do some more research, as for the IMT thing a had assumed this was a high impedance mic cause it had a 1/4" plug, but the cord is really short so maybe that's to make it a little less heavy connected to a longer cord. This may end up being something I'll have to buy and test out to really know, or maybe I'll just try to learn to like my green bullet. Thanks guy's for the information.
