Dion - of Runaround Sue 60's pop, according to an interview I read, has always just wanted to be a blues singer/guitarist. At this late stage of his life and career, he is able to go for what is in his heart. I think it's great and really enjoy his music.

Dion is an absolute legend. He does a song called "In Your Own Backyard" that ain't in a 12-bar pattern but it's as evocative of what having the blues is like as anything I've ever heard.

I agree, Iceman. He's got it in the pocket and under control.

It's useful to compare his video, with 5K hits, to John Hammond, with 125K hits. I like Dion's more. Next to him, Hammond sounds frantic.

I thought that was pretty cool. I always liked Dion's music when I was younger. He is from the Bronx about a 15-20 minute city bus ride from where I lived though he is a lot older than I am. He comes from from around Belmont Ave. I had a girlfriend there for a while...well, until she caught me with her sister! Back when I was really young there were always acapella groups singing on the street corners. Great to see he is still going.
