Dear harmonica friends,

my new Youtube lesson is online!

In this video I am talking about "Worksong" written by Nat Adderley. A very bluesy jazz standard in F on the Bb harmonica.

Here you go for additional material...

My semester break just started...let's see if I can find a regular upload schedule now ;) Anyway, I definitely have time to add some new Skype students now. Just write me using my email address below if you are interested.

Best wishes,
Konstantin

Cool vid Konstantin. Unfortunately the link you supplied to the tabs in Dropbox doesn't seem to work. Could you please publish a working link?

work song

the trick to getting the 5 ob....

bend the 5 draw down like we were talking about on the other thread.

then switch directions to 5 blow... it should pop.
then just practice practice practice...

Very nice.

I enjoy watching someone describe the number 1 with their thumb rather than the American first finger. Makes more sense.

so would this be considered a jazz tune?

jazz typically will use a ii v I chord progression.
i see a II V I on the last 2 bars. shouldn't the G7
be a minor chord?

No, it's a secondary dominant leading to the C7. If you were writing out an analysis you'd label it "V7/V" for V7 of V.

if you click on the link it shows 4 flats. Ab major and F minor are related.
even though it shows a F7 chord in the chart. sounds minor and has a A natural.
thats my take

ok perhaps is an A flat

"Is this tune in a minor key?"

Yes, it is in F minor.
