They say everyone has a book in them. Here's a story I'd love to see but lack the skill to write it.
An elderly first generation bluesman comes to England in the early 1960s. He has drink/drug issues and an unscrupulous manager. They play a large prestigious gig with a young, brash English RnB band as support act who have a bigotted, middle class manager.
After the gig a young fan is found dead backstage. The bluesman is passed out from drink/drugs and wakes with no memory of the evening. He is then No1 suspect with no alibi...
You could use this to explore rascism, exploitation, and the whole sixties music business.
There you go.. I waive my rights to all the millions of dollars you'll earn from the tale. (Though I would like to swim a couple of lengths in your guitar shaped swimming pool!)
I even thought of a title "Bottleneck Blues"
