It's always a pleasure to listen to you guys. Simply put, your music makes me happy.
Question . . . what was the Montana inspiration regarding your "Going to the Sun" album (as a longtime, former resident of Big Sky country, the title names make me curious).
To answer your question...John (the other half of the Sheriffs) and I worked in the "orchestra pit" on a couple of plays for a theater company in Whitefish a few summers ago. We were there for about 6 weeks and picked up a bunch of gigs in Whitefish and Coram and had enough spare time to write a bunch of the tunes on the record! It was a unique and really fun time and we found the whole area (and Glacier Park in particular) quite inspiring!
Thanks Ross. It's gorgeous up there; I always told the touristas to bypass Jellystone Park and head up to Glacier.
There's a great little bar called the Northern Lights Saloon (3 stools last time I was there . . . but I think they still book live music) in the tiny town of Polebridge. It's in north Glacier, just a few miles south of the Canadian border.
