Sorry I cant add pictures. Please google David Doring playing Amazing Grace. The 22 pipe instrument runs $175.00 ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz
I lived in Peru for a while and learned to play the antara (Quechua), aka: zampoƱa (Spanish) which is a little smaller than the pan flutes used in Europe. Great for playing "El Condor Pasa" and have never tried it for blues in the 26 years I've been back in the USA. ---------- BnT
I've 'played' pan flutes (or rather the little ones) to the extent that I've figured out how to get notes. I've contemplated putting my own set together. (There are instructables online for it.) I'd do it with a Richter note layout if I did just to soften the learning curve.
They are nice instruments, and seem like a more natural choice for someone who plays harmonica and is used to moving their mouth around to find notes compared to a regular flute.
I've messed with them but that's about it. They can sound beautiful but to me they are one dimensional. Kinda like playing the piano with one finger but with fewer riff possibilities.
