Just got my Tsunami harmonica mic from Rockin' Ron's, and it's cool. Better cord than the the old (discontinued) Strnad microphone, and more compact. Great compressed tone, finger volume control, feels good in the hand.

You sound great--it sounds good.
Can I use it with a rack?
How much?
Did I mention that you play the harmonica well?

Thanks Mr.G! It's advertised as being ideal for harp rack; from wht I can tell this Tsunami microphone would be ideal. Rockin Ron has them for 79.95.

It's on the way!
So I think the RP-355 with Richard Hunter's patches is going to come out of mothballs, and the guitar/harp combo is going to get some attention.
Thanks Ted for the heads up!

You're welcome. I think you'll like it. Make sure you post a tune using it in a rack.

Posting my findings--had to lose the TurboLids, fits only 10 hole diatonics.

Tried the mike at a gig last night--works great! Nice to have a big warm sound out of my 2 12" guitar amp.
Did not modify the Hunter patches--they were programmed with a FireBall in mind, but sound fine.
One problem is managing to put the harp into the enclosure with enough time left to play--I was playing guitar and mandolin, harp is just another "value added" instrument for most of my situations, and it takes a few moments (up to 30 seconds, really) to insert the proper harp. Had to lose the TurboLids too, but that is less of an inconvenience.
I have yet to try this in the rack, I bet that's where it's really going to shine. But I like the sound better with this mike than going thru the vocal mike, that seldom enhances my short harp sound (and every little bit helps!).
Thanks again Ted.

Real glad you like it , Gary. I have the same reservation about inserting the harps in the mic; it could have been designed to make insertion easier. Still, it was a quality purchase on my part and I would recommend this to anyone.

1st question --
How hard to jury rig for quick harp change==Like 5 seconds-30 seconds is an eternity in front of people---all momentum is lossed

It would be nice to be able to add some delay n dirt for blues stuff--but if it hits mic--pop sound

Any one know or have any ideas---I have every tool known to man ---and completely reworked my neck rack it was a 2 screw thing --its now spring loaded like standard holders--Thank for the post and any info

you can loosen the screws to the degree at either end of the pick up. i've loosened mine to the farthest degree I and i'm able to slip harps of most makes in and out in 5 or seven seconds.
