Been playing here for 6 years.
The city is redeveloping the area to build more faceless condos for snowbirds.
This spot was ideal because it had electricity
Oh well- there will be another

If there was nothing to give us the blues we wouldn't have the blues.

:(

:)

(Couldn't decide if I should go with a comiserating frowny face or a pick me up smiley face so I gave you both.)

Yep- you right

I never woulda picked up harp if it wasnt for this spot. See passing musicians would often ask to sit in on drums or guitar so I started messing with harp so they coud join in. In his video the drummer and mando player are sit ins

The sad part is it was a great corner to meet all kinds of musicians passing thru town as it was in a town square but just 1/2 mile from the beach

We got gigs, tv xtra spots and a bit in a commercial just from the great location.
It was really a fun place to play

Shame about losing that spot.

I'm guessing the brushes were not the sit in drummer's choice, but rather simply what was provided for her to use?

Yep.
I would put brushes out because it would discourage folks who felt they had to band loudly on a public street corner. A sure way to get chased from the corner

Makes sense, always gonna get the Tommy Lee wannabes. And you can always tell the non-brush players when they are forced to play with brushes of some sort - they play exactly as if they were using sticks, sigh..... Some actual brushwork would have fit great with that song.

Nice video. Seems the blues is doing well in your town! Is that an authentic negro blues man in your band?
