Just adding my name to the many who tout the great service that Ron provides. I ordered some Seydel 1847 stainless steel reeds from him this week - for a Low F and a G Pro Soloist. I've started playing Seydels along with Marine Bands, and I first tried the Pro Soloist because of the cost and the wood comb. While I liked them right away, the brass reeds on a couple went fairly quickly so I started replacing them with stainless steel which I really like - they seem louder. Anyway, back to Ron - he called me the next day to say he was shipping the G but had to wait a couple of days for the Low F plates, and wanted to make sure I'd be okay with the delay (who does that these days!). I told him no problem, my Low F with brass reeds played fine just wanted to upgrade it. I then described what I'd been doing with the Pro Solists and he told me I might want to try an 1847. He then offered to sell me a Low F 1847 at a discount as it was old stock he was clearing out. Just got it (and the G reed plates - barely two days after the order), and it plays great - much less air required than before. Ron rocks - that all I can say!!
