Block Bottle baby? That's what it sounds like to me, but no idea what that would mean.

Black Bottle baby? That would be a brand of booze.

Black Bottom baby? Googling that seems that there was a dance called the black bottom back in the 20's.

The more I listen the less sure I am even sure the first word in the line is like. There is almost a 'b' sound, like 'block'. (I think like is more likely though.)

On the bright side, I'm pretty sure we've got the 'baby in Hollywood' part down!

Is there any old footage of him doing it live where we might be able to sight read?

There is a lot of echo/reverb on the vocal and it's kind of low in the mix. There are some tricks you can use it audio editing software. I remember seeing a video on them once. It involves mirroring left and right and something something something and you can take a vocal track out of the mix. I think it can be done in reverse to cancel out everything but the vocals. At the very least you could pull it down and do some eq'ing to see if that cleared it up, but as muddled lyrics go that one is pretty tough, and since vocal tracks are mixed center it's harder to isolate them than other tracks.

If you are thinking about playing it I think the original is muddled enough you could get away with plugging just about anything in there.

There's a different version on the "Double Dealin'" album:

"Like a ____ model, baby, in Hollywood
The girls are mad; the men are feelin' good"

I can't hear what kind of model she is, but think model is right.

It's "blonde model"

At least that's what I am hearing-I'll ask Hank Mowery-maybe he knows?
