The album Tough Luck totally won me to Carrie's style. Tell me you can't hear pure love come through his harp?

Carey's voice is really smooth -- a lot of people mess up the pitch when they're singing in that clipped style, but not Carey.

The playing is obviously good.

Great stuff. Carey Bell was a monster player. A real harp players player. A person can learn a lot from listening to his music.

Exactly... Yes you feel his soul in the inflections in which he plays. This is what draws me to the harp and keeps me practicing.

I've been a fan of both Carey Bell and Walter Horton's work as they did a couple of LP's together that I'd bought back in the day of vinyl.
I love Carey Bells version of "Country Girl" and have been working on the version which he did on "Harp Legends, Vol 1" I've done "Last Night" from the same album. I'm no singer though!
I love all the stuff he does in 3rd position. I can't stop playing "Teardrops" G harp in 3rd from his album "Good Luck Man"
