Anyone ever try this tuning? Todd Parrott made a video on it sometime ago--a customer asked about it, so I built one. Here's his video.
It's fully chromatic with draw bends, but check this out--every overblow is the same as the next highest blow note. That's kinda weird isn't it. Just wanted to share. I made a video too, what the heck, here it is.
Still haven't gotten back "under the hood" to improve it, but then, I probably won't play it much.
I found this clip wIth Steven de Bruyn demonstrating the spanish tuning and some more. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YtdgivoaT7c

This harp is in harmonic minor! Key of A, although the D is missing, it can be played as a draw bend. So all that minor stuff with a dominant V chord fits.
If you play this tuning in 2nd position you get the Phrygian dominant scale which is the fifth mode of the harmonic minor scale with one whole step bend of the tonic [home key] 2 & 5 draw in this case. This scale goes by various names Jewish scale, Spanish, and Hajiz in mid-eastern music.the scale reads as 1 b2 3 4 5 b6 b7 also you can get what is known as the arabic scale by doing a half step bend in the 2 & 5 draw which give a major 7th 1 b2 3 4 5 b6 7. There is all kind of exotic music embedded in these scale if you ever want to step out of the blues bag.
It's a great tuning for working on your draw bends, that's for sure! I have discovered that it works great for Miserlou, and of course Hava Nagila-- The fellow who originally asked about it has decided to purchase it, happy ending, I can back to practicing tunings I will actually use at a gig . . .
