I second that,Greg! Saw him with Reverand Raven the pastr 2 years at the IBC's in Memphis.I guess you could call him a traditional player but he has his own unique voice to add to the tradition.
He wasn't very active for awhile because his wife was sick and ultimately passed away. He seems to have risen like a Phoenix from the ashes.One of my favorite players.He has a live album with some impressive playing. He has a riff lifted from a big band riff that's Ricci fast. Not sure I'll ever be able to copy it.
