It was originally Seydel 1847 classic low tone bold body in the key of LLE and I tuned it down a half-step. Now it is lower than my Tombo Pocket Bass, my guitar and tenor Saxophone.

Jesus! You see the size of the weights on that thing! Man. I'm really surprised at the response people can get out of those. They sound like they play REALLY well.

I already mentioned it on FB, but I think Eugene tuned one down to LLD.

This, of course, means that you two are going to have to have a contest to see who can tune the lowest. :)

(To be fair, you might be right on 'blues'. I think he was using his for classical).

Edit- you are correct, probably, on FB. He probably used his tuning.

It sounds great either way. Great to see you guys pushing the boundaries on what these things can do!

Did you use solder or just file it down to do it? I'd rather special order one and have the reeds cut to correct pitch than do either one, tho I'd rather go with the solder because thee's much less metal to remove and filing it down risks seriously weaking the reed structure.
