Hiya (or G'Day as we say0
A while back you talked about a Shure 57 knockoff that sounded pretty close to the original.
Proel or something similar?

57- A dangerous moment, of sorts, for me sitting in last night. Straight PA, ult57, killer results. My regular rig is a brown concert (1960) and various LW gear that I also go PA with, sometimes.
Straight PA. I did have a soundman.

Great price, Killa. Pity that Amazon charges you 3 times the price if you live in Germany. Robbing gits...

Well its made in China so i would suggest fudging someone else who carries it. Pylr makes knock off s of everything electing you can think of. Most of it sucks, but this is one of those rare ones i think. But yea screw amazon, surely you can find it elsewhere.

Hey Behringer mic fans! Look familiar?

Pyle Mic 3 Pack

I tried looking for you Tigger, but even on German ebay everything still ships from US. You ll have a better idea than me where to look. They Have to be out there. Your right though, at that price your halfway to a better mic. But if you can find one for under $20 grab it.

I've read a lot of reports of those mics failing quickly due to very poor build quality. But cheap enough to take a punt I guess.
Hey Indigo...i know you already have a 57 :) I'm getting some use from the Reverb pedal at last, cycling through all my amps in private jams

Yeah Dave i still have the '57 we did the deal on.
Just looking for some cheaper mikes for a project.
Glad to see you're getting some use out of the L/W reverb.
It is a nice unit for sure

Bee mines pretty solid. I mean the construction doesnt compare to a real 57, but come on its nine bucks.

I actually want to add a VC and use a piece of bicycle innertube to make a sleeve to go around the outside of the grill to act as an artifical cupping device. If i added a hiz xfmr and a 1/4" jack ... it would be a killer lil sleeper mic. And if the element goes ill buy another one for $9 and swap it out.

The 3 mic set above is exactly the same looking mic and case as the Behringer 3 mic set. How much you wanna bet that they are the same?

I bought a Behringer 3 set used of eBay for $20. Those mics are pretty decent too. Cheap mics are under rated. The Akai DM13 is my favorite dirty mic so far and they are cheap too. Well unless you get one of them nuts trying to sell em fir $150. But they can be had for under $20 all day.

Yeah sure, they're cheap as, and I'm shure there is a bit of brand name $ added to the 57, but you don't get something for nothing so you know...it ain't a 57...which is a very robust reliable unit. I gather the Pyle unit is not a balanced mic and is transformerless, so long runs are prone to pick up noise and phantom power will kill them...I'm a bit clueless about the transformer/phantom power issue but I've seen it mentioned a few times so probably something to be aware of if one was thinking of using these in particular applications. But certainly, cheap.
