I've always been a big Kim Wilson fan (duh!) but I've never heard him live. I just heard, however, that The Fabulous Thunderbirds are playing in my area next weekend (Ho-Chunk Casino, Wisconsin Dells). I'm excited to check it out. Has anyone heard them recently? I imagine they put on a good show, no?

T.Bird <--screen name NOT actually inspired by the name of the band, believe it or not...

I saw them just last year at the Niagara Falls Blues Festival...in the rain...with a relatively small audience.

They played as if they were in front of a full stadium.

Incredible show. Incredible energy.

An inspiring experience.

I saw Kim Wilson in Seattle 3 or 4 years ago and he was fabulous to say the least. Hardest working musician I think I've ever seen. Looked like he should have taken a shower after five minutes he was sweating so much. No wasted time - just song after great song. His backup band was terrific, too.

Kim plays all the time around San Jose. He's always great. High energy show for a blues show. Never seen him with the Thunderbirds, though.

Jinx loves to amuse himself. And talk to walls.

I guess if that's your thing. Rock On Bro. Lol.

I pretty much agree with everyone here. Every time I see Kim Wilson, it's 95% the same show.

But it's a killer show. I could see it over and over again.

That must have been the Jazz Alley concert in 2012. With: Kirk Fletcher (guitar), Larry Taylor (bass), Barrelhouse Chuck (piano) and Richard Innes (drums). I was there, and it was the best Wilson ever.

Yep, that was the one. My wife and I were there with Brian Lee, a great harp player in his own right.

Wilson goes balls to the wall.
When I saw him a few years ago he had a young cat on guitar, Troy Gonyea, playing a Tele thru a Vox ac 15 or 30 that was kicking ass
