Crawforde ... Cool. Thanks. Ill probably be starting in the blues vein. And yes i know the artists, but i ment more along the lines of how to videos n such. Seems pretty straight forward though (but so did the diatonic at first .. lol) i dig how its the same note layout in each octave. Ricci has two pretty interesting videos. I just got stuck in a youtube hole for the last couple hours. It should make it a bit easier because i can leverage 'some' knowledge from the diatonic.

Winslow thanks I'll check it out.

Sitting Here At Work Listening to Spotify. Trying to dig up something different on Blues Chromatic to listen to. I ve been listening to alot of William Clarke, Carey Bell, Mark Hummel. I came across one of Paul Oscher's Albums.

Alone With The Blues.

This Album Is Pretty Dope. Some Great Chromatic Songs. Even throws the Bass Harp in there a few times.

Anyways it was new to me so thought Ide share.

Also Nick Kashmar - Nickels And Dimes. Killer Album,

Ive listened to alot of chromatic playing before, but never really payed it as much attention as im playing now.

Most blues players tend to play chromatic in 2nd position, some not using the slide button, some not. George Harmonica Smith also played in 1st position as well, which requires MUCH more use of the slide than 3rd position does. He was a teacher to a number of greats from the West Coast like Rod Piazza, William Clarke and Kim Wilson.

Here's some 1st position chromatic to listen to from George:

Boy, listen to the first solo on "Monkey On a Limb"--the band wasn't listening to George very closely!

I got that 64 in today. It's plays great. All the notes sound good. It isn't leaky, all the windsavers are good n new.

Now i just have to figure out how to play it. I learned a few scales. that helped. I just need to find a good sing to learn and a few good licks.

But i dig it. I played with it for a few hours. It's definatly gong to take a little getting used to.

When i went back to diatonic, it felt like a toy. Lol. Or like driving a Honda civic vs a MAC Truck.
