I never heard of this harp player before. I'm sure everyone else has, but ..... There was a great article in the February issue of Livin Blues Magazine. Pretty crazy dude, this guy is Livin Blues Fo' Sho'.
Hes awesome and another harpist obviously very heavily influenced by James Cotton. If you hadnt heard of him check him out. See what you think. I think Hes Incredible!
Edit : He has some lessons on youtube aswell. So Hes probably bigger than i realised. But either way he's great and news to me. ----------

I stumbled upon some Charlie Sayles vids a few years back. Great stuff. He plays for real and it's a raw style that cuts to the quick. Anyone interested in busking should look up all you can of his street vids. ----------
Charlie Sayles has quite a few more albums than i thought. If you put his name into Spotify theres a decent list of albums. The new one is a bit too religious for my taste. A little too "got sober n found god" if ya kno what i mean. But whatever works. The man can BLOW, thats for sure.
Lot of great cuts on Night Aint Right and I Got Somethin To Say. Hes got a Best of Album. Hip Guy. And another: Night aint right complete sessions, with some remixed versions from 2015. All pretty good stuff.
wish he had an acoustic or instrumental album with some of his stuff like he plays in his busking videos.
The new one is Charlie Sayles and the blues Diciples. If your interested.

Check out his (long out of print) "The Raw Harmonica Blues of Charlie Sayles" and his two recordings on the Smithsonian "Classic Harmonica Blues" compilation. Both of these are more like his busking style.
"The Raw Blues of..." is probably my favourite harp record.
Very Cool. Thanks Alot. Actually these albums were mentioned in that article I read, but I havent seen them. But Ill do some digging. Especially if you say they re worth it.
I'd love to know if there's any more of the live session released on "Classic Harmonica Blues", the two cuts on there are out of this world.
There's also supposed to be an episode of seminal BBC documentary series "Arena" about Charlie. I'd love that to see the light of day again, sadly it's probably very unlikely to ever happen.
Charlie lived in Philly for a while. He had a record that had some lesson on it. He gave me a copy about 25 years ago. I took over teaching for him at the Arts League in West Philly. He used to say to me "how do you stay so calm when you teach?" ----------
Get Out, thats too cool. Yea, he apparently lost his eye in Philly. Philly is right up the road from me. Shame he doesnt play there anymore. Dude is a Character. Do you still have the Record?
Diggs you play out pretty often in Philly Right? Where Can I Find A List Of Your Gigs? I been meaning to make my way up there and see some shows. I dont get out much anymore since I stopped partying.
@killa I don't play out that often anymore. I don't think I have the record anymore. All of my stuff is on youtube now. As soon as I finish this Standards project I'm going to finish writing my instruction book. ----------
