Hi,
wondering if anyone has experienced the reaction between the aluminium comb and metal slide, which has left me with no choice but to file off bumpy surface to front edge of comb.
It is the more recent version, purchased approx 10 years ago.
If air-tightness becomes a problem once I re-assemble should I consider replacement aluminium comb or is there anyone who will produce an alternative in plexi-glass or corian?
Kind
regards
Rob

I am not certain on the construction of the Meisterklasse Chromatic, but working on the assumption that it is the Hohner standard on the slide, it sounds like you are getting galvanic corrosion between the 1st (stationary) slider plate and the comb.
In finding a fix for this, I recommend watching Brendon Powers' comb replacement video.

I would think the parts on sanding and the Vaseline he dabs on as a sealant would be of specific interest.

Thanks for the feedback!
I'll check the video out, I had an email off Brendan mentioning this just yesterday.

You must have the second iteration of the Meisterklasse. They fixed this problem on the third iteration. I have one of these, and after five years or so it has no problems with comb corrosion.
