I've always had 3 separate Harp kits.
One 6 harp set in the car and I play/practice while I'm driving and have done for the last 25 years.
I have my best and full set for playing with other people in an old 30's document case.
I have a 3rd break in set I keep in the John! The acoustics just don't get any better!
Anyone else an on the move addict? I've never been pulled over.
Cheers John

I carry a 12 hole Seidel Blues Soloist, in the nylon case, in my pocket everywhere I go. I also have "beater" harps in my car. Can't keep good ones in the car over a New England winter.

@John…I play while driving too. A lot of us here do. I see nothing wrong with it. Left hand holds the harp. Right hand on the wheel. When I see a car coming I stop playing for safety’s sake. Anyone who says it isn’t safe to drive and play, answer me this.

Do you eat/drink while driving?
Smoke while driving?
Talk on the cell while driving?
Fiddle with the radio/CD player while driving?
Put makeup on while driving?
Check the “Nearby POI feature on your navigator while driving?

It’s all the same.

@Jason…I live in North Central PA. Except for this crazy year, our winters get nasty cold too. I always keep harps in the glove box. The trick is to hold them over the defroster before playing to warm them up. Then hold over the defroster again before putting away to dry them out and keep them from icing up. Granted the ones I keep in the Jeep are beaters. But I still treat them as decently as possible.

I carry a Special 20 in C daily, have for most of a decade now. This particular harp was the first one I ever tuned up, and still my best playing. It lives in one of the leather cases that Seydel Session Steels come with, which mostly keeps the lint out.
