All those later albums Jimmy Rogers did are brilliant the only one that lacked for me was his jimmy rogers all stars - Blues Blues Blues something about it just didn't click for me.
Those four people are probably just unwell hahahaha ----------
"Those British boys want to play the blues real bad, and they do"
I am a HUGE Jimmy Rogers fan but these recordings with Earl are the least interesting.
The band is great but doesn't back him very well. That's what their job is here after all. Earl was pretty much at the top of his game in the early 90s and does HIS thing here. There are several songs where Jimmy can't relax into the singing as he normally does. Sugar Ray is great as always and delivers the goods here too but the beat and the accompaniment runs away from them. Both he and Jimmy need "lazy" shuffles not driving ones.
Unlike the recordings with Wilson (Ludella) and the Flyers, this one doesn't do Jimmy Rogers justice I feel.
